Авторы экспериментируют, ищут новое, необычное звучание инструментов как с помощью приёмов, так и с помощью содержания, образного строя. «Народность» этих инструментов в самом традиционном понимании постепенно синтезируется с «академичностью». Появляются большие серьёзные работы. Произошёл колоссальный рост исполнительского мастерства. Всё это способствует появлению новых сочинений для народных инструментов.
