Description V. Kruglik — Burlesque for domra with orchestra of Russian folk instruments.

I was approached by a well-known St. Petersburg domristka, soloist of the V. V. Andreev orchestra Ekaterina Shirokova with a request to write a small piece for domra and orchestra. I decided to make a quick character piece where the domra would be presented as a very technical instrument. In General, fast music sounds very good on plucked instruments. At the same time, we wanted to avoid a hint of borrowing or using widely popular Russian-folk intonations, to which we are accustomed in the XX century. This is how the idea of a Burlesque for domra and orchestra was born – a small entertaining three-part composition with fast, impetuous extreme parts and a lyrical, elegant middle part. The whole composition goes at a single pace, which contributes to its holistic perception.

The work is recommended as an educational repertoire in secondary and higher educational institutions.
